HR Professionals
A typical hr professional client will be a busy human resources director or an hr manager from the hr department of a medium to large employer. Invariably they will be CIPD qualified and have considerable experience and confidence. They will know their grievances from a flexible working request! They seldom need help with familiar day-to-day matters but call us when they have an unusual, complicated or high value issue to deal with.
Often we are asked to review a specific case and provide a recommended approach or strategy. Sometimes we are required to give a second opinion or to confirm there are no hidden dangers with a proposed project or initiative. We work in partnership with each client, providing specialist knowledge and advice to help solve the problem and giving reassurance about what is the best way forward.
Quantrills is good at pitching our advice at the right level, always taking into account the hr professional's amount of knowledge and experience and incorporating the latest hr best practice.
Sometimes we are asked to advise on how to 'fast-track' a preferred result. Often this type of work involves advising on how an employee can be dismissed on agreed terms and this is where clients benefit from our experience and strong negotiating skills.
Recent examples of our advice work for hr professionals include:
- handling severance negotiations
- drafting complex compromise agreements
- compliance issues with the national minimum wage and working time regulations
- managing long-term ill health absences, including disability discrimination issues
- drafting new contracts of employment, including for union negotiated employees
- relocation of European head office out of London to new county location
- disciplinary investigation into allegations of serious fraud
- implementing collective redundancy scheme
- TUPE problems
- in-house training for line managers on handling grievances and disciplinary investigations
