Case Study | Severance negotiations
The HR director from a large national client consulted us about an employee who had been absent for many months on sick leave.
The case was not straightforward as the employee had raised grievances against his colleagues, but was not co-operating with either the grievance or ill-health procedures.
The client was exasperated as they were unable to move forward. The client discussed with us its options and confirmed that they wanted to persuade the employee to leave on agreed terms.
We provided tactical guidance, drafting appropriate and robust letters which ultimately resulted in a negotiated settlement being achieved.
Note: All case studies are based on cases we have recently handled, but you will not be surprised to know that we have changed all names and some other key details to ensure client confidentiality is preserved.
