Case Study | Disciplinary investigation
A small regional business with a mixture of employed and self-employed staff instructed us.
They had concerns about an employee carrying out private work during work time and tampering with a tachograph as cover.
With no dedicated hr function and limited personnel management experience they needed our guidance on conducting the investigation, collating evidence in support and drafting appropriate letters.
The case was complicated by the employee being absent from work on sick-leave, supposedly with work related stress!
Our advice resulted in the employee's dismissal and no claim was brought by the employee, as the client had expected.
Note: All case studies are based on cases we have recently handled, but you will not be surprised to know that we have changed all names and some other key details to ensure client confidentiality is preserved.
