Case Study | Drafting compromise agreement

A large Suffolk based employer had negotiated terms of settlement with an employee.  We were instructed by the HR director to draft and finalise the compromise agreement. 

Our client was concerned that the employee had indicated an intention to start a personal injury claim and therefore wished to protect against existing and future claims.  The employee, under advice of his solicitor, was not willing to accept this. 

Careful drafting of the compromise agreement achieved the primary objective of the client and was also acceptable to the employee and his solicitor. This resulted in the conclusion of the employee's agreed departure to the satisfaction of all parties.
