The database at the moment is relatively small and is likely to be of limited value to employers and employees alike, but could prove a source of useful information and guidance. After all, at our employment law updates the case law is always the most interesting and informative about day-to-day HR best practice.
The publishing of judgments may prove to be a double edged sword. It can be used to see if employees or job candidates have brought claims in the past but equally employees and candidates can check to see if your organisation has been involved in cases in the (recent) past. If your organisation intends to use the database to check for judgments involving employees or candidates, bear in mind the risk of acting on any information you glean in a way which might lead to claims of victimisation.
