The main employment law proposals from the Conservative manifesto are summarised below:

  • Introduciton of a cap on public sector redundancy payments at £95,000
  • An above-inflation rise in the National Minimum Wage.
  • Retention of employment tribunal fees.
  • A ban on exclusivity in zero hours contracts.
  • A requirement for 50% or more to vote in ballots for strike action and the support of 40% for the strike (as announced earlier this week).
