How to Manage Difficult Sickness Absence Cases

29th September 2016 08:30-14:00

Location: Trinity Park Conference & Events Centre

Handling employee absence, whether long or short-term, is not always straightforward and can be a challenge to get right. Get it wrong and you will have at best a disgruntled employee, at worst an employment tribunal claim to defend. Following a fair procedure is of course a key requirement to help ensure you make the right decisions and avoid claims of unfair dismissal or discrimination. Nevertheless it can be difficult to decide what to do for the best, both for your business and for the employee.

Our focus will be on helping you manage better your difficult sickness related absence cases. We will explain best practice and highlight potential mistakes to avoid. We will also discuss alternative options including the benefits (and risks) of offering terms of settlement.

This half-day master class will provide you with the knowledge and confidence to tackle successfully your employee absence cases. Clear explanations, step-by-step guidance incorporating the speakers’ many years of experience, and case studies will be key features of this master class to help ensure you are brought fully up to date about this essential area of HR management.

Who should attend?

All HR professionals and other senior managers who have responsibility for managing employees will find this master class of real value and assistance.
