The online service provides employees with an Isolation Note to confirm they cannot work, either because they have symptoms themselves or because they live with someone who has symptoms.
Employees will self-certify for the first 7 days before having to use the new service. It is designed to reduce pressure on GPs and to help with social distancing.
The notes are obtained through the NHS website or via NHS 111 online. Notes will be sent by email to the employee. If they don’t have an email address it will be sent to a email address of a fried or family member.
